“Support of the Inclusion and Reporting of LGBTQIA + Youth and their Mental Well-being in Europe – Proud Ambassadors”
The Erasmus+ project entitled “Support of the Inclusion and Reporting of LGBTQIA+ Youth and their Mental Well-being in Europe – Proud Ambassadors” (2024-1-SE02 KA220-YOU-000250648) aims at supporting the social inclusion of LGBTQIA+ youngsters by addressing the issue of their mental well-being, which is reported to be negatively impacted and deficiently reported due to the discrimination they continuously face against their Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression and/or Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC).
Objectives
The project’s methodology is based on the achievement of the following 4 goals:
Policy reform:
We aim to map existing good practices and provide policy recommendations related to the proper approach and support of LGBTQIA+ youngsters’ mental well-being.
Educational development:
Using the findings from the mapping, we will develop innovative training materials for youth workers to properly approach and provide support to LGBTQIA+ youngsters.
Training Opportunities:
We will transfer the developed materials, using a user-centric approach, by development a MOOC platform for asynchronous training, and training the 1st GEN of Proud Ambassadors through a series of webinars.
Peer-guidance:
We will create an online safe space, the Proud Ambassadors Support Forum ensuring proper support and peer-guidance to LGBTQIA+ by the certified Proud Ambassadors.
